Bitcoin: the trend labels held, but 3D strength dropped straight from strong to weak

Sep 16, 2026 · BTC

Our 3D scan still reads trend up with bullish momentum, yet its strength grade fell from strong to weak on an efficiency ratio that dropped from 0.6662 to 0.2275, and the weekly slipped from strong to moderate with momentum cooling to neutral. Multi-timeframe alignment is unchanged at conflicting for a fifth consecutive read - 3D and weekly up, monthly down - while a 3D pivot floor that has not moved sits 0.7525% below price at 76,174.00.

What changed since the previous read (2026-09-10)

The direction column did not move at all. Bitcoin's 3D and weekly scans both still classify the trend as up, the monthly still classifies it as down, and multi-timeframe alignment still reads conflicting — the fifth consecutive read on that label, the run starting 2026-08-18 after the 2026-08-11 read returned mixed. The directions dictionary is identical entry-for-entry: 3D up, 1W up, 1M down.

What did move is the strength and momentum columns. The 3D strength grade fell from strong to weak with no intermediate moderate reading, and the weekly went strong to moderate with its momentum cooling from bullish to neutral. In the twelve reads stored for Bitcoin since 2026-06-23, a 3D grade stepping straight from strong to weak has been recorded once before, between the 2026-06-30 and 2026-07-07 reads. It also ends a three-read run of strong on that cell (2026-08-25, 2026-09-03, 2026-09-10).

Price moved from 78,156.01 to 76,174.00, a change of -2.5360%. Every percentage distance below is measured against that current price: (level minus price) divided by price.

The pivot ledgers barely re-resolved, but the one change relocated a convergence. The weekly resistance ledger swapped 82,850.00 at one touch out for 82,575.00 at two touches. At the previous read the weekly and monthly scans independently named the same nearest resistance, 82,850.00; now it is the 3D and weekly that name the same one, 82,575.00, sitting 8.4031% above price, while the monthly keeps 82,850.00 at 8.7641% above. The two remaining candidates are 275.00 apart, which is 0.3610% of price. No other support or resistance entry on any of the three timeframes arrived, departed or changed its touch count.

The floors closed in without a single level moving. The 3D support at 75,600.76 was 3.2694% below price at the previous read and is 0.7525% below it now; the weekly's 75,557.00 went from 3.3254% to 0.8100% below; the monthly's 74,508.00 from 4.6676% to 2.1871% below. All three are the same prices they were a read ago — price came to them, they did not move.

The multi-timeframe read

3D — last close 76,174.00, trend up, strength weak, momentum bullish. RSI-14 is 60.06 and the efficiency ratio is 0.2275, down from 0.6662. Price sits above both 20-period averages: the 20-EMA at 72,870.25 stands 4.3371% below price and the 20-SMA at 71,353.24 stands 6.3286% below. That positional read is what keeps the trend classification at up; the strength grade is computed off the efficiency ratio, and the efficiency ratio is the input that moved. Worth noting both closed the gap, price falling 1,982.01 toward the average while the EMA rose 934.91 — that EMA-to-price separation was 7.9593% a read ago.

1W — trend up, strength moderate, momentum neutral. RSI-14 53.78, efficiency ratio 0.4349 (from 0.5444). The 20-EMA at 72,639.74 sits 4.6397% below price, the 20-SMA at 70,003.63 8.1004% below.

1M — trend down, strength weak, momentum neutral, unchanged on all three labels. RSI-14 is 49.37, effectively mid-band, and the efficiency ratio actually rose, 0.1722 to 0.1947. The monthly classification is positional: the 20-EMA at 80,902.97 stands 6.2081% above price and the 20-SMA at 86,938.68 stands 14.1317% above, so price remains beneath both monthly averages. Those separations widened this read — they were 3.7562% and 11.3642% — and the widening is price-driven, the monthly EMA having moved only -188.76 while price moved -1,982.01.

Levels and zones

The 3D scan lists supports at 75,600.76 (2 touches), 65,000.00 (1), 62,440.17 (3) and 58,977.03 (3), against resistances at 82,575.00 (2), 90,588.23 (1), 94,588.99 (1), 97,924.49 (1) and 116,400.00 (1). The weekly lists 75,557.00 (2), 60,564.56 (6), 53,017.97 (2) and 49,000.00 (1) below, and 82,575.00 (2), 88,765.43 (1), 94,588.99 (1), 97,924.49 (1) and 109,973.67 (3) above. The monthly lists 74,508.00 (1) then a wide step down to 58,900.10 (2), 49,000.00 (1), 32,917.17 (1) and 20,699.75 (4), with 82,850.00 (1), 109,588.00 (1) and 126,199.63 (1) overhead.

Expressed as a share of each timeframe's own average range, the nearest support-to-resistance bands are 1.7940x one 3D ATR, 1.2949x one weekly ATR, and 0.5266x one monthly ATR. That monthly figure is the narrowest of Bitcoin's three bands relative to its own average range, and third-narrowest of the nine cells on our three-asset board, behind Ethereum's weekly and 3D — the monthly scan's two nearest pivots are about half of one monthly average range apart.

Bitcoin's 3D ATR is 3,887.52, or 5.1035% of price. That is the smallest average range relative to price of the nine cells, as it has been at every read we have stored, and it has risen at each of the last four: 4.2027% on 2026-08-25, 4.3824% on 2026-09-03, 4.6844% on 2026-09-10, 5.1035% now.

On imbalance zones, the 3D scan carries one unmitigated bullish order block at 62,535.24 to 64,500.00 — a band running from 17.905% to 15.325% below price, formed 12 bars ago — and the weekly carries 62,535.24 to 65,391.14, 5 bars old. The monthly's bullish zone at 107,350.10 to 124,474.00 sits far overhead, 40.927% to 63.407% above price. No timeframe lists a bearish order block. Zones of this kind mark where prior trading concentrated on one side; conventionally they are described as areas traders watch for a reaction, and none of the three has been traded through since it formed.
