Bitcoin: weekly momentum turns bullish even as the 3D trend flips down

Oct 28, 2026 · BTC

Bitcoin's 3D trend has flipped from up to down while weekly momentum moved from neutral to bullish, so the 3D and monthly now point down with the weekly the only timeframe up. Price at 80,994 sits just under both the 3D and monthly 20-period EMAs, inside a narrow band between 80,200 support and 82,575 resistance.

What changed since the previous read

The previous read had Bitcoin at 76,174 with the 3D and weekly trends both up, the monthly down, and alignment already labelled conflicting. Price has since moved 6.33% to 80,994.14, but the 3D trend has flipped from up to down. The alignment label is still conflicting, though its makeup has changed: the 3D now sides with the monthly in pointing down, and the weekly is the only timeframe still reading up.

The weekly picture moved in two directions at once. Momentum crossed from the neutral band into the bullish band, with RSI 1.78 points higher at 55.56. Trend strength, however, slipped from moderate to weak as the weekly efficiency ratio fell from 0.43 to 0.14. The weekly support flagged in the previous read at 75,557 has dropped out of the ledger. The nearest weekly floor is now a fresh pivot at 80,600, with 75,360.66 below it carrying three touches. The 82,575 resistance named on both the 3D and weekly scans in the previous read is still the nearest ceiling on both.

Three timeframes, two directions

3D. The trend reads down with weak strength, yet momentum is still in the bullish band, with RSI at 55.59, 4.47 points lower than in the previous read. The flip comes from a narrow gap: price sits just below the 20-period EMA at 81,259.97 and the 20-period SMA at 81,394.73. MACD has turned over on this timeframe, with the line at 2,508.29 now below the signal line at 3,277.54 and the histogram at -769.25, where the previous read had the line above the signal. The efficiency ratio of 0.22 keeps the strength label at weak.

Weekly. Price is well above the 20-period EMA at 75,496.30, which is why the weekly trend reads up. MACD remains constructive, with the line at 2,310.56 above the signal line at 862.37 and a histogram of 1,448.19. Momentum is bullish, but the low efficiency ratio describes a choppy path rather than a clean advance, hence the weak strength label.

Monthly. The trend reads down with weak strength and neutral momentum, RSI at 51.46, 2.09 points higher than in the previous read. As on the 3D, price sits just below the 20-period EMA, here at 81,310.38, and well below the 20-period SMA at 87,143.37. The monthly MACD line is below its signal, with a histogram of -2,453.51.

The 3D and monthly 20-period EMAs sit close together just above price, while the weekly average sits well below it. That arrangement is the conflict in one picture: the shortest and longest timeframes have price marginally under their averages, the middle timeframe has it comfortably above.

Levels and zones

The level map around price:

Above price, the 82,575 to 82,850 area is the ceiling every scan names. Beyond it, the 3D lists 84,898 and 87,307.84, and the weekly lists 88,080.55. Below, the 80,200 and 80,600 pivots are the first floors, with the 75,360.66 and 75,389.83 levels the next deeper layer on the weekly and 3D.

No scan lists a bearish order block. The nearest bullish zones on the 3D, from 62,535.24 to 64,500 (25 bars old), and on the weekly, from 62,535.24 to 65,391.14 (11 bars old), both sit well below price. On the monthly, the nearest unmitigated bullish zone runs from 107,350.1 to 124,474, a band where prior buying concentrated and which sits well above current price.

How the read fits together

The current chart describes a market that has risen since the previous read but is pinned in a narrow strip between the 80,200 to 80,600 floors and the 82,575 to 82,850 shelf, with its 3D and monthly averages sitting just overhead. Weekly momentum is the firmest bullish element; the 3D MACD turn and trend flip are the newest bearish ones. Traders often watch a tight band like this for which side gives way first, and here the scans place both edges within a few percent of price.
