The week-ahead read stays choppy. Bitcoin is trading sideways on our blend — softer market-implied odds offset firmer short-term momentum — while the majors bounced off this week's pullback on still-narrow breadth. When Bitcoin's own direction reads flat and no alt cohort has decisively taken the lead, that is a range, not a trend, and the standing regime call (issued July 8) is left in place.
Today's new leans
- Binance Coin, 7-day upside lean (low confidence). Bullish cross-source coverage plus firm momentum lift the modeled chance of a notable weekly gain to roughly seven-in-ten, above its ~37% base rate. Coverage is thin, and our upper-band leans have lately underperformed — so this is provisional.
- Bonk, 7-day downside lean (low confidence). The run's clearest downside read: bearish coverage and sharply negative momentum put the modeled chance of a notable weekly decline near four-in-five, above its ~47% base rate. A thin-coverage, lower-cap memecoin, so conviction is low.
- Binance Coin, 3-day upside lean (experimental). On the pre-registered 3-day horizon — excluded from our published accuracy record — the same bullish blend lifts the modeled chance above its ~38% base rate. Low confidence, provisional.
Solana and Ethereum's standing weekly upside leans and their 3-day experimental reads remain live from yesterday and were left unchanged.
The structural board
- A fresh Bitcoin record within six months is restored to the board after a gap: our corpus-and-momentum blend now leans above the historical frequency, lifting the modeled chance to roughly 46% — just under a coin-flip — versus a ~7–8% base rate from this wide a distance to the prior record. The distance is large, so this is a low-confidence, provisional read.
- Solana over Bitcoin this quarter cools from last week's stronger tilt to a modest better-than-even lean, around six-in-ten.
- XRP over Bitcoin this quarter slips back below even, to about two-in-five — still well above its ~22% base rate, but the prior better-than-even tilt no longer holds.
- Standing reads: a broad six-week altseason still looks unlikely, and at least one major suffering a 20%-plus drawdown over six months stays near-certain. Ethereum's quarter-ahead lean over Bitcoin is unchanged.
Receipts — today's resolutions (one hit, two misses)
- ✅ Ethereum, 7-day upside (issued Jul 3 → resolved Jul 10): correct, +3.09%.
- ❌ Avalanche, 7-day upside (issued Jul 3 → resolved Jul 10): incorrect, −1.49%.
- ❌ Week-ahead regime: rotation (issued Jul 3 → resolved Jul 10): incorrect — Bitcoin led (+2.0%) and breadth stayed thin, a Bitcoin-leadership tape rather than a rotation.
Honesty check on the record: our highest-conviction band (0.7–0.8) has gone 0-for-3, which is why today's upper-band leans carry low confidence. The 3-day experiment remains excluded from that record and is running at one hit in six.
Under the hood
207 items cleared analysis in the window. Bitcoin drew the heaviest coverage (42 mentions, bullish-leaning) with Ethereum and Solana next; the AI sector was the busiest theme. None of it amounted to a decisive market-wide catalyst, which is the choppy read in one line.
