Bitcoin coverage turns constructive as two down calls miss

Sep 23, 2026

Bitcoin leads a constructive week of coverage; the engine adds a 7-day higher lean on Bitcoin and a weak one on XRP. Two hits, five misses resolved, and our probabilities still have not beaten the base rate.

The read

Bitcoin-led risk appetite carried through the week. Our corpus analysed 165 items between 21 and 24 September, with Bitcoin the most-covered coin (46 mentions, bullish lean) followed by Ethereum (21) and Solana (7). Coverage clustered on derivatives, DeFi and memecoins. Several independent accounts - on-chain analysts and chart-focused traders - described Bitcoin reclaiming its long-term averages and short-term holders moving back above their cost basis. The standing risk-on regime read (issued 19 September, runs to 26 September) is left unchanged.

New calls

Standing 7-day calls on Ethereum, Solana and Zcash (all leaning higher) keep running to their own expiry. Curve (CRV) cleared the engine but was refused: all of its directional coverage came from a single account. Avalanche, Cardano, Dogecoin and BNB rested on momentum alone and did not clear the conviction gate.

Receipts - resolved since the last run

All asset calls below were issued by the current engine and graded on direction alone.

Call Issued Matured Resolved Outcome
Bitcoin 7d leans lower (58%) 15 Sep 22 Sep 24 Sep Miss - BTC rose 12.5%
Pump.fun 7d leans lower (58%) 15 Sep 22 Sep 24 Sep Miss - PUMP rose 25.0%
Bitcoin 3d leans higher (56%, experimental) 19 Sep 22 Sep 24 Sep Hit - BTC rose 6.1%
Zcash 3d leans higher (57%, experimental) 20 Sep 23 Sep 24 Sep Miss - ZEC fell 0.2%
Ethereum 3d leans higher (55%, experimental) 20 Sep 23 Sep 24 Sep Hit - ETH rose 1.3%
XRP vs Bitcoin, 90d, leans to trail (77%) - prior engine 24 Jun 22 Sep 24 Sep Miss - XRP +46.5% vs BTC +41.1%
Solana vs Bitcoin, 90d, leans to trail (80%) - prior engine 25 Jun 23 Sep 24 Sep Miss - SOL +69.8% vs BTC +41.1%

Two hits, five misses. Both 7-day down calls were wrong on a strong rally, and both first-engine relative calls missed after high stated confidence.

How the record stands

Over the trailing 30 days to this run (24 September, 01:13 UTC), the 7-day claim pool holds 12 scored calls (the public claim needs 25). The Brier Skill Score against the base rate is -0.008: our probabilities have not beaten simply quoting the historical base rate. Reliability is 0.041 and resolution 0.042, so the probabilities discriminate a little but carry calibration error. A constant "always up" forecast would have scored better over this window. Direction-picking diagnostic only: 50% of these calls pointed the right way. The verdict remains insufficient data.
